Practical Support

How we spend our time — whether in paid work, volunteering, creative pursuits, caring, study, or community involvement — profoundly shapes our identity, confidence, and overall sense of wellbeing. Meaningful activity gives structure, social connection, and purpose to our days.

“I live in a rural area and didn’t have access to any local support. The online peer support changed everything. I finally found people who understood — and I didn’t have to travel anywhere to find them.” - Online peer support participant

We believe no one should miss essential care or support because of practical obstacles.

“I was struggling to even get to my clinic appointments because I couldn’t afford the bus fare. Plushealth sorted my travel costs, and I haven’t missed an appointment since. It sounds small but it made a massive difference.”

THE PEER DIFFERENCE

Practical support can make a difference in your HIV care

Welfare grants

We offer small emergency and hardship grants to people living with HIV who are facing financial difficulty. These can help with essentials including food, utilities, and other urgent needs.

Staying connected matters — to your clinic, your peer support, and the world around you. We provide free SIM cards to help ensure people living with HIV have access to mobile communication.

Missing an appointment because you can’t afford to get there shouldn’t happen. We can help cover the cost of travel to HIV clinic appointments for those who need it.

Not sure what support you’re entitled to? Our team can help you navigate the wider landscape of benefits, grants, and services available to you.
